Fledgling Bluebird

Hot off the press–a fledgling bluebird painted by my daughter. This was another lesson she adapted for watercolors from the book, “Painting Garden Birds” with Sherry C. Nelson. I love the texture she used to suggest feathers, and I particularly like the fluffy cheek and breast feathers. The budding rose is quite lovely, too. Watercolors and acrylic ink on cold pressed Acquarello Artistico paper by Fabriano.

  1. Just love it! The bird looks so soft with the fluffy feathers that it makes you want to hug it! Love the technique on the feathers giving that fluffiness to them. And , of course, for me the butterfly is the special touch. Well done, my girl!
